How We Started

How We Started

"Know what the Cedar Valley needs?"
"It needs pie, homemade pie."

It was this statement that led to the birth of Try Pie in the Spring of 2014, after a moment of destiny for those gathered around the table. • Try Pie's Impact

Research has shown that working just a few hours each week as a teen can increase the likelihood that that teen will later attend college, and decrease the likelihood that they’ll be involved in crime activity. Simply giving teens a job gives them a chance to put to use and grow the gifts and skills they’ve been given.
  • Get Involved

Do you have an interest in volunteering with Try Pie on the adult team? Because of limitations on volunteer needs and opportunities, we meet one-on-one with potential volunteers to find the right fit. Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. • Visit Us

There are a couple of ways to visit us:

Hansen’s Dairy Outlet, a local dairy with two storefronts in the Cedar Valley, features Try Pie in their frozen section.
Stop by Habitat ReStore every Saturday from 12-3:00pm. While you are there, grab a fresh-baked mini Try Pie and a cup of coffee.
